I'm Hollie Berry
Yes it's my legal name! I am a Licensed and Insured Cosmetologist and Educator certified in hair, makeup and advanced airbrush makeup techniques centralized in San Diego, California. I am currently registered as an Adjunct Professor for the SDCCD Cosmetology/Aesthetic department and co-own and educate at Alchemy Beauty Academy.

I have over 20 years experience as a Fine Art major along with a decade of experience in the beauty industry providing special event hair and makeup as well as continuous experience working on TV/Film Productions and Print.
I have worked for and freelanced with MAC Cosmetics where I specialize in enhancing ones natural beauty but can also create a more extreme and dramatic look.

With a bachelor's degree in Business from Chapman University, Cosmetology training from SDCC, and on-going attendance at workshops and industry shows I highly value education and the pursuit of perfecting my craft.
Some of my favorite workshops I have attended and participated in have been taught by Gregory Arlt, Denika Bedrossian, Danessa Myricks, Jordan Liberty, Sharon Blain, and lastly being able to shoot with Vogue photographer Courtney Daily.

Can be used day and night, is light enough for oily skin but hydrating enough for dry skin!

I NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUTA lip balm! You never know when your lips will feel dry or cracked so I like to keep one in a purse and/or jacket.

MY FRIENDS WOULD DESCRIBE ME ASKind, empathetic and creative :) Art has always been apart of my life and to truly make great art you have to be in touch with your emotions. I believe this is what has allowed me to tune into what my clients are feeling and be able to collaborate and calm them with the look we create.

I really struggled to find a hair and make up look that worked for me. I went to several stylists for trial appointments and was never really happy with the result - at least partially because I didn't know what I wanted. I went to a trial appointment with Hollie, and she was really good at giving advice as far as what would or wouldn't work. The make up was perfect at the trial appointment. I still wasn't quite happy with the hair, but after working with Hollie, I felt very confident that she would be able to make it right on the day. I was not disappointed. Both the hair and make up were perfect, and they lasted all night - even through swing dancing. Bridesmaids' hair and mother of the bride make up were also perfect. My mom also struggled to find a make up look she liked, but Hollie got it just right. Hollie is so knowledgeable and experienced, and she's an artist. She is also really easy to work with - good at communicating despite being extremely busy. I would highly recommend Hollie, and I would absolutely work with her again.
